Wanted to start this thread to get peoples reactions to the meet and greets. If you have been to one on THIS tour, tell us what you think. If something annoyed you about it, let us know. Also let us know how long the meet and greet lasted, whether they signed anything for you (not including the pre-signed poster) and if you got to use your own camera for the photo.
Last year the M & G's lasted about 3-4 minutes and the band signed 1 to 2 items for you. Although they were short, it was fun to chat with them and get something signed. From what I read from the first night or two of the tour, you are now given less than 30 seconds with the band, are handed a pre-signed poster, a quick photo is taken (perhaps not even with your own camera) and then you are ushered out. And on top of that, you paid $150 a head to be treated like crap by the folks running the M & G. If Train keeps this up, fans will stop caring. To quote Pat "Everybody needs a little Respect", well Pat, how about your fans who pay big money to meet you. Show some love like you have in the past.
So please do let us know how your experience went.

Permalink Reply by Becky Milakis on August 5, 2012 at 12:58pm This was my first one, and that's how it was. I have friends in the business, so I do understand all to well the time constraints and logistics that can have an affect on this sort of thing.
I do believe that since these are being handled by a third party (Artist Arena) that they are the one's who are in control over how the event is handled. Most likely reason is to keep it consistent though out the tour. There were a large number of people at the one in Indy and we missed Andy Grammer. Yes, the tour manager took the photo's and we don't have access to them until Monday.
Double edged sword.

NO DOUBT about it "WE ALL LOVE TRAIN" we all have from the very first song and always will till the very last song!!! These 3 guys and their band are AMAZING!!! We got to stop this and all move on with LOVE in OUR HEARTS for Pat, Scott and Jimmy cause you all know deep down inside that's how we really feel !!! So guys please just step up to the plate and make a simple concession to everyone that was sold a bill of goods that they never received and maybe just maybe everybody can move on with a POSITIVE future with TRAIN. Don't leave us hangin with negativity from a bad experience. We can all forgive and FORGET!!! A simple suggestion.......send to all those that attended these M/G that were promised things not delivered a signed copy of your new CD as a token of appreciation and maybe just maybe the fans will forget and move on cause really guys if there was EVER a BAND that could CHANGE the WORLD it is TRAIN!!! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

Permalink Reply by Christena Anderson on August 16, 2012 at 11:09am You have to purchase a ticket w/ a M&G attached to it so it's face value plus the additional cost. Usually you have to go to Artist Arena or whatever online outlet the band uses to get them.

Was that something you did or was that done by the Train folks as the posts were less than complimentary (although true). Let us know how your M & G went tonight. (and perhaps re-post your one of a few days ago).

Permalink Reply by Rebecca Freeman on August 20, 2012 at 1:10am I think any time you would get with them would be terrific. These guys are on the road at a ferocious pace, and if you want the great show they provide, then shortening the process of the meet and greet is part of the way to save energy for what thousands of people gave their hard earned money to see, which is one of the best shows on the road. I, for one would LOVE a meet and greet and would be honored to be able to spend the smallest amount of time with them. I'm sorry, but I think you are being pretty hard on the guys and staff who give it everything they have every show. I actually heard a person sitting in front of me whining about the same thing. Holy Crap, you got what many of us would have given almost anything to get. How about being grateful for being fortunate enough to get to met the guys in person. I'm just sayin...
Permalink Reply by Michelle Hunt on August 21, 2012 at 3:08pm I attended the M&G Sunday night at Mohegan Sun. The email specifically told us we were not to use our own camera/ phone, and nothing would be signed. The instructions given to us before the guys entered the room was that we were not to hug them, try to use a camera, or ask for anything to be signed; if we did, our picture would immediately be deleted. While I don't feel like we were treated like crap, I do feel like the whole process was very mechanical, and almost defeated my enjoyment of meeting Pat, Scott, and Jimmy. We shook hands, hurriedly took a picture (although it came out great!!), and were ushered out of the room to get our pre-signed poster. It was definitely disappointing :(
Permalink Reply by Sarah Lowe on August 21, 2012 at 6:13pm I don't know about your comment that people would have 'given almost anything' to get what we got. I did give almost anything. I gave them $422.25 (about 15% of my monthly salary) because I thought I would 'give almost anything', too. And I didn't event think it was crazy until I was threatened like a child, intimidated, rushed, and made to feel a bit like a fool. We were misled about what we were to receive and experience which was disappointing to say the least -- and we should have every right to say so. Under what other circumstances does anyone expect someone to be grateful for not getting what they paid for? I'm just sayin...
