Its been my dream, my BUCKET LIST dream to sing Bruises with Pat! Im at the show tonight in San Diego...Ive been waiting for months, I am beyond excited! Pat asks if a lady in the audience from his age group would come sing it with him! Heres my chance! I throw my arms up and start yelling...but he chooses some other woman, asking her if she knew the song...she says yes! Psh! Dumb lady didnt know a single word! She just spent the whole song dancing around on stage like a jackass while Pat sang the whole song on his own! It KILLED me! I know every word, even the harmony!  Here is my ultimate dream come true and  that asswaffle woman squanders it! How are you in the front row of MY favorite band's show and you dont know every word to every song?! OH! I tell you, its heart-breaking...and since the remaining shows of the year within driving distance of me (Phoenix, Salt Lake, LA, Berkeley) have $500 2cd row seats that I can in no way afford, I guess my dream will never come true :(  ...Very sad.

You poor thing!! I felt bad enough when Delta got up and sang with Pat in Sydney.... I was sooo jealous! I can only imagine if some random got up there and didn't even know the song!!! HOW ANNOYING!!! Did you get a pic at least? That was my only saving grace! You never know what can happen keep the faith! ;)

Yeah, Heather, I totally understand. I too was at the show and totally felt bad for all the women who actually knew the words to the song and actually were in the front raising their hands to go up on stage. She was a totally disgraceful "fan". I hope you get the chance in the future to go up on stage. :)

Ms Benson, I am very sorry to hear what happened. Still, I hope you can be happy for the woman.

A few weeks ago, I was on-stage with Mr Monahan in Singapore, dancing like a twit, very nervous and happy at the same time. I knew some of the words (it was not a requirement) and did not really care whether or not I got picked. There were many other women - young and beautiful - desperate to go up there but Mr Monahan picked me - not young, not at all beautiful.  I love Train and their music but I never even harboured thoughts of getting close enough to shake Mr Monahan's hands, yet there I was, on stage with him. I was so nervous, I forgot the words.

The audience, including those women who, like you, felt they should have been up there instead of me (and maybe they should have?) were genuinely happy for me. They came up to me and told me so after the concert. Many took pictures and sent them to me. That's when it hit me that my moment on stage was more special than I could possibly have imagined. I shall never, ever know why I got picked, but I did. I probably didn't deserve such a privilege (and it is a privilege, never a right even if you have front row seats) but a wonderful thing happened to me and I will be forever thankful.

I sincerely believe that Mr Monahan and his band are all supremely decent people with very good manners. I felt that they brought out the best in their audience, more than at any concert I have been to in the past 30 years. As such, I am sure Mr Monahan would understand your disappointment but I suspect he will also be disappointed that some of his fans would harshly label another fan "dumb" and "disgraceful". Ouch!

I really do not mean to preach and apologize if I come across that way but only recently I was exactly in the same position as the woman you describe and I just feel it is not fair to the woman whose only "crime" was to be picked by Mr Monahan.

My $0.02.

oh Heather! NO fair!!!!!!!!!!!!! I kinda felt the same way when Pat mentioned someone at the concert who seemed to know every word of every song, and she got special recognition...and I thought "hey Ive been singing every word of every song as well!" It made me kinda laugh, my own wish to be recognised! But it sounds like you would have been great on stage, knowing all the words....maybe there will be a next time? (and Pat, we love you, even if you did choose others, lol!)

Mahita- just saw your post - Im sure Heather and all others are happy you got that moment - sounds like it was very special!

Mahita, while I respect what you said and of course youre right, Im still jealous and bitter :)

I am nowhere near a mean-spirited person, and Im sure the other lady was thrilled and is as we speak telling her friends of her good fortune, but I cant help but be jealous that my dream was squandered by someone who assured Pat she knew the song, and then made him sing the whole thing by himself while she danced and took out her phone to take pictures of the two of them while he sang alone. Im not trying to hurt anyone, obviously, Im just saying I wish it was me. As for getting another chance, I dont rule anything out in this world, and Ill just keep doing my thing and being good to my fellow man, and hopefully karma will smile on me some day! You guys have a great day, and lets keep in touch! Im always happy to make new friends through my love of music and my favorite band Train <3

Thanks Michael...I dont know if any of the west coast shows in September are in the budget, but Im going to do my best!

OMG!!! i would just love to sing with Pat i can't sing for toffee but i would give it my best!!! i have meet and greet tickets for Aug 8th 2nd row in the middle, i saved all year to pay for them.  i just can't wait!!!! aghhhhh so excited to meet them. if he does ask at my concert i will still scream for him to pick me i am kind of his age just 9 Years younger lol

I have to say, Heather, I never thought you were mean-spirited. If i thought you were, I’d never have felt sorry about what happened. Instead I’d be inclined to say "Serves you right!". Well, I probably wouldn't say it, but I'd certainly think it. I'm sure you deserve your moment up there and I do hope you get it one day :-)

How the heck do you get meet and greet tickets!? I know I'm probably no different then any other fan so I don't feel like I deserve them more than any other fan, but I love love love Train and really badly want to get Pat's autograph or photo! I put myself on this website, put myself on the radio that sponsers them website, tuned all my radios to the station sponsering them to see if there are contests for the meet and greet. It's my dream to see them in person. I just want to know where you buy them!? Thanks so much!

Well, I feel bad for you and don't think your mean or anything, but there's probably a lot of pressure on Pat trying to pick one out of a million screaming fans! Another girl probably feels your pain. (I do think it's wrong that she didn't know the lyrics, though)

http://tixx1.artistarena.com/train/ here is where you get them
