Anyone have any leads on exclusives at Best Buy, Target, etc. for the release?
And whatever happend to the Chicago DVD from last year that was due out? Maybe bundled with a Deluxe release of Cali 37? At any rate, the band is due for a major dvd release, including a collection of music videos (though I am happy to wait until the 3 or 4 singles from Cali 37 are released).

Right now it is old news with the new tour starting soon. Also, the Blondie/U2 medley was cut ( I assume for copyright reasons, or maybe they did not play it that night), so it was an incomplete show. It could have been filmed better with more close ups of Pat. But I guess that is tough to do as he runs all over the stage and does not stand still for more than a second. They should velcro his feet to the stage and then do the close ups. I agree with Jeff, they are overdue for a DVD/Blu-ray.

Permalink Reply by jeff messer on April 13, 2012 at 3:37pm I checked Best Buy a few days ago, and they listed a "Deluxe edition" for $22.99, but had not description. So who knows. Seems like "To Be Loved" it the universal bonus track. Itunes has it too.
DVD wise - I recorded the broadcast version missing the Blondie/U2 stuff, which I assumed was cut from broadcast for copyright issues, but was probably filmed and should be included in an official release (bands cover songs all the time and release them commercially, but TV broadcast may be a different situation).
Permalink Reply by Joann Pitkunigis on April 13, 2012 at 4:38pm As CA37 is a rather short CD, I wonder if they will issue a "Deluxe Edition" like they did with SMSF, where they add a few songs and make you buy it again. Betcha we all own at least two copies SMSF, right ??
They can call it the "Sausalito Edition". I'm sure they recorded more than just the 11 songs on the CD.
Permalink Reply by jeff messer on April 13, 2012 at 4:45pm I have bought SMSF 4 times. Itunes download, CD (I'm old school - I need the booklet and package), CD as a gift and Golden Gate Edition. I recall that MPN came out in the double sided disc thing that was popular in 2004ish. It was CD on one side DVD on the other, and included great stuff on the DVD.
I think that re-releasing with extras is brilliant from a sales standpoint. As long as the extras are worth it. A bonus DVD, and additional songs will get me to buy again in a heartbeat.
And we all know that they have a bunch of "lost/leftover" songs in their back catalogue. And in addittion to TO BE LOVED, there's BRAND NEW BOOK and SOMETHING TO BELIEVE that came along recently.
One day, I would love to see us get a B side collection (though I have most of them already.)
