I have been a train fan long before it was cool to be a train fan.  Love 'em.  HOWEVER, as of their show in September 2011 at the White River Amphitheater, I can honestly say that I don't know if I'll fork out the dough to go to another one.  I'm sick of more and more and MORE goofball chicks being called up on stage to waste valuable singing time!  And, no, I'm not jealous that I've never been one of those goofball chicks.  Just sing, Pat.  Just sing.  If I want a corny show, I'll go to Vegas.  Stop wasting everybody's time with your outfit changes and time-wasting antics with the ladies and JUST SING!!!

Ummm.  Did you even read what I purposefully wrote?  It's not a jealousy thing.  I'm sure that it made the night for the 30+ girls that were up there.  But, for all of the other fans at the concert, it was like alright already.  I've seen several shows and it's gone from that one special girl to a stageful.

Outfit changes???? I've been to three concerts, front row, and Pat may have changed once. Train connects with their fans in so many ways, and the Trainette part only lasts maybe ten minutes of the entire show, and that is one very nice way for them to connect. Things like that are what make our group so very special. They get back from us what they give.. and they give so much. I have been a Trainette, and it was a memory that I will never forget. The people at that concert had a ball and helped sing along. Why can't you simply appreciate our band for all they do, and know that there's not many of those groups left who really enjoy, make eye-contact, and include their fans throughout their entire show? Sorry, but I'm a die-hard TRAIN fan, who support my guys in their journey - Trainette and all.

Firstly, to be fair, Bonnie, I actually went through and counted the number of outfits in my photos from this year's Houston ("The Woodlands") concert, and I counted seven different tops. Granted, Pat kept his pants on the whole show--laugh if you want, but I'm not joking; he really did wear the same pants the whole time--and some of the tops were jackets, so he might, maybe, possibly have just run backstage and thrown his jacket off once or twice. Either way, I'd say that he changed outfits pretty frequently on this latest tour, to the point where I found myself speculating as to the fabric content of his clothing--"Are those ruffles or feathers?"

Far from finding it irritating, though, I found it kind-of hilarious and rather charming, in line with Pat's bizarre dance moves and those crazy rhinestone-covered (or, were they sequins?) pants that he wore at the AMA's last year.  Thus, OP, you can have that point if you found the costume changes distracting and Vegas-y, but to each their own. I thought it was lovely.

Now that that's out of the way, I really don't see what the big deal is about the Trainettes. I've seen several posts here on the forums complaining about them, and while I understand the perspective, I genuinely think that the Trainettes are a lovely part of the concert. Granted, I wish some of the Trainettes picked at the Houston concert were people farther back in the crowd--why bring up only people from the first few rows (of which I was one, although not called on-stage), who are already having a fabulous time and, chances are, had meet and greet passes (which I did have) or front-row tickets, when perhaps there are some people in the cheaper seats whose year it would make to be called up on-stage?

But, you guys, they called up some adorable little kids in Houston, and it was so precious, and really, it only took like, ten minutes, tops. Pat even signed a guitar and gave it to one of the little girls at the end of the show, and her face was absolutely adorable. Sure, I was jealous--jealous because my parents didn't bring me with them to Train concerts when I was a kid, that is!--but how can anyone complain about that?!

In conclusion, OP, if you just want to hear Train play their music, and you don't want to see them interact with the crowd, well, that's what CDs are for.

Ditto Katherine...But let Pat have his fun. He deserves it. We love him anyway. Amen to your last sentence!

Amen Bonnie and Katherine, I've seen them twice in the past couple months and I loved every minute of it, costume changes, Trainettes, and all.  Part of the costume changes I think have alot to do with the fact that the stage lights are so hot, and Pat is such an energetic performer that he wants to stay fresh during the performance.

Lisa, you're probably completely correct, and there's probably some level of practicality to the outfit changes--particularly in Houston, where it was a crazy-hot outdoor venue, and the fans (literal, air-blowing fans, not fans of the music) were broken/off for the first half of the concert.

Still, I prefer to think Pat's just that flamboyant. Moar ruffles! ;)

Seriously? This website is for Train fans, not saying that your not one.... But it wasn't made for people to come hating on Train, or what they do or wear! Sadly, many other people don't respect Train and hate on them, so we dont need you hating here!

And especially, about the Train fans. Train does so much for us, the fans. They realize what they mean to us. And for the 30+ girls sing like freaks on stage, yes it made there night, but it also made there WORLD! So that's okay, im not telling you what to like or not like. But really? that's kind of rude too, try and think about what others would want... and ive never heard such thing as people not liking the trainettes, They always say good things! So please, be a fan and not a hater.

Train might see that and think, hmm mabie we should stop the trainette thing... Now nobody wants that! be careful what you sayy! WE ALL LOVE THE TRAINETES! AGH!!

True, he probably is, but isn't that one of the reasons we love him so much!!!

Well said Katherine, Lisa, and Amber! Thanks for those comments! Ultimate Train fans Unite!!!!!!
I have to say its a fine line... and they often trip over it on that song and the trainettes bit. I have more problem with the song choice than the bit.   I mean its one of their older songs and its like less than 5 minutes on the album but in concert like 15-20 minutes.  I get ticked because they skip the For Me its You album completely and some of their older stuff... the stuff that old school Train fans really started following the band hearing.   If they want to do a country themed song just add "Idaho" to the set list or even "I am here".  "Idaho" works for the trainettes bit and the latter is one of my favs!

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS.....I LOVE AND APPRECIATE EVERYTHING "TRAIN" DOES....THEY ARE POETRY IN MOTION....IT'S ALL IN THE RECEIVING.  WHATEVER WAY YOU CHOOSE TO SEE IT IS YOUR CHOICE....IT'S THE BEST TRAIN TRACKS I HAVE EVER BEEN ON!  SENDING LOVE TO ALL OF YOU!
