Support is Matt Nathanson - not sure if the guys hang around tho. See you there.

Hi i saw Train last year and yes they do hang around I'm going to Manchester too can't wait they are fantastic they are as great live as on the albums ;o)

thanks for the replies :)

did they play in the same place last year?? i cant wait :) the new album is amazing!! oh and do they wait around inside the place or will it be out back?

They played the Academy in Oct 10 - my wife's a huge fan but to be honest at the time I could take 'em or leave 'em. They utterly blew me away - we're going to the gig on the 6th and I can't wait. Pat belted out the opening lines to 'When I Look To The Sky' without a microphone and it was genuinely spine-tingling - he's got one helluva voice. I don't think they hang around though, unfortunately!

Will be my first Train gig too ~ am so excited now, just over a week to wait!

All this talk is making me more excited! Next weekend can't come fast enough! I hope they're selling some merch there aswell, would love a t shirt :)

Hi Michael they came out front to us and Pat came into the audience while singing he is an amazing guy the whole band are great you will love it. I cant wait ;o)

Awesome! I'm surprised I managed to get tickets so late, I thought they'd be sold out.. And I better take some extra money for t shirts then :p

also does anyone know what time i should start queuing so i could get near the front? need to make sure i get a good place! :)

If you get there about 8pm the night before you should defo get a good spot - make sure you've got a decent sleeping bag and check the weather reports as you might need a brolly through the night. There was a Subway down the road that does good breakfast rolls.

I'm kidding, obviously - it says on the ticket doors open at 7pm, we're aiming to get there a couple of hours before. The earlier you get there the closer to the front you'll be (as you would expect) but it can be a mjor drag waiting around. Last time we queued up it was September and pretty chilly, and given how crappy the weather was these last couple of days it's not a good sign this time around!

Bring snacks and drinks, make a picnic of it!

I attended the Manchester Academy gig in Oct 2010 and it was a fabulous night. Good friends, great atmosphere and the performance was outstanding. Agree with everthing everyone else has posted and more.

Got there early and stayed in local hotel. Managed to get a bit of inside info and was told that the bands tend to go to a student bar near the venue called the Big Hands so went in there before and after the show. Didn't hold out much hope as not the greatest of places but all forgotten when the band did actually come in later on (minus Pat unfortunately). Good photo call and a great night had by all.

Booked for the Hammersmith Apollo this year so hoping for a good gig but surprised if it can live up to the last one. Same friends, Friday booked off work and the band will hopefully be just as good so all the makings for another great night.
