It will never ceast to amaze me when people attend concerts and just sit in their seats barely moving during the songs, and then giving an almost obligatory clap after the song. Why not just sit in your car or bedroom listening to the music if you aren't going to get up off your seat and sing and dance and feel the music?!?
I was even in a group of mainly Meet & Greet folks and only one person stood up during one song to dance. I didn't want to be an annoying rude person who doesn't respect people, so I sat on the edge of my seat singing and dancing as much as I could while still remaining seated... but was utterly amazed and disappointed that the fans in the crowd didn't celebrate the music more. I paid good money for that ticket and that seat and just wanted to get up and move to the music like I did at the last two concerts!
NL was amazing because of the venue and the bare bones of the concert.... just the California 37 banner, the band and their music. Ravinia was great because of the set list and the medley (LOVE IT ~ Train needs to put it up on i-tunes!!) and the people were all up dancing and having a good time. Springfield was memorable because of the M&G ~ my first ever~ it was my kids first concert ever, and they had fireworks right after the show!
Life is short people!! Live and love every day and enjoy yourselves!!!
I am not usually one to get on Forums but this is twice in two days... hilarious... LLL

Permalink Reply by Zaidagal on August 17, 2012 at 11:32am Hi Linda - I totally understand your frustration....I was "going to town" singing and dancing at the last Train concert I went to, and a few folks near me were very quiet....I worried I was bothering them, I hope not! I guess its just different styles.....
My daughter and I are going to our first Train concert tomorrow night in Philly. She's bouncing all the walls with excitement. She doesn't know how to sit at a concert and I'm proud of that! My boyfriend is a Rush maniac (I designed his shoulder tattoo) and I was surprised at how many people sat at the two Rush shows I attended. It didn't make sense to me. Yup, I bought a "seat" but that doesn't mean I'll use it. :D
If you're at the Mann tomorrow look for us! My daughter has BRIGHT red hair. Yup, she looks like Disney's Ariel. If you're facing the stage we're on the right. We'll be the ones whose butts only touch the seat before the shows.

Music effects everyone different, maybe that's just the way that certain people like to enjoy the music while they are watching one of their favorite bands play. Some people like to sit and observe while others like to jump up and scream..... to each thier own. Just try not to bother other people and get in the way of watching the band while doing it :)
Permalink Reply by Mina_Monroe on August 18, 2012 at 8:04am I agree!! I wish you could have been down on the track where I was; most everyone was dancing like crazy down there! ^_^
Permalink Reply by Deborah Fontana on August 19, 2012 at 12:10pm I felt so sad that i was in the 2nd row and singing dancing up on my feet knowing the words to every song. Yet the people next to us knew no words to any song they were so drunk they could hardly stand up.
Permalink Reply by Rebecca Freeman on August 19, 2012 at 2:15pm What a waste. I was in the 2nd row in KC, danced and sang the whole time. For the amount paid for those tickets, they will really regret that when they realized what they missed. Too bad those tickets were not enjoyed by someone who would have LOVED to be that close. Oh, I guess that would be me...ha ha.

Permalink Reply by Mina_Monroe on August 19, 2012 at 4:03pm Yeah, that's what I had hoped too, but the greeting happened before the show, so I could not get as close to the stage as I would have liked. But the standing area wasn't full when I got in there, so I got reasonably close. Still plenty close enough to admire Pat lol!! Plus, you can just keep telling yourself that even though you aren't right at the stage, you already got closer to the guys than the rest of those people ever will. XD

Permalink Reply by Jill Somers on August 22, 2012 at 2:02pm Funny story, last summer I saw Train and Maroon 5, sat in the third row. There was a family of three sitting in the 2nd row right in front of us. Mom, Dad, and teenage girl (about 14-15ish). I am not kidding you - the teenage girl was literally sitting in her chair, READING A BOOK, while her parents were standing and dancing!
WHO DOES THAT? I was glad I didnt have someone tall in front of me, blocking my view.
Permalink Reply by Athena P on August 22, 2012 at 3:23pm I noticed that at Peabody last month-all the people in the row I was in seemed like they were asleep. I was singing and enjoying myself and I enjoyed every minute. I guess they were either made to go by someone or they were just deadbeats. =/ I also noticed this at a blues festival I went to a couple of weekends ago-I enjoyed myself, and had a great time. Everyone else was just like "oh whatever". I go to concerts to have fun but I guess other people don't. I don't know though. =/
Permalink Reply by Trish Laudati on September 3, 2012 at 5:37pm Even worse than not getting up are the people who talk through the whole show! Why are you even there? Had a couple in front of me at the last show that didn't shut up once.
