The BSA do not know exactly when they will be able to make a decision on the matter we have previously addressed. They need to move on with their plans so unfortunately we won't be able to perform at the Jamboree this year.
Comment by Robert S on March 16, 2013 at 5:12pm come up to Alberta, Canada to the Canadian Boy Scout Jamboree. In Canada we accept G & L leaders. WE in Canada are open. So come up to the Canadian Jam and entertain us.
Comment by Ralph Ganter on March 16, 2013 at 10:12pm My respect for this band just keeps growing! Once again, nicely done gentlemen.
DO :)
Comment by Bonnie Holt on March 17, 2013 at 12:44pm How many times have you performed for people and organizations and have not focusd on their beliefs? Did the BSO tell you that you had to believe a certain way to perform for their jamboree or is this just a decision that Train made? I guess I'm missing something here, but aren't you gentlemen forgetting one thing? The children??? They would love to see you perform. They are your fans. I thought that ultimately that was what it is all about, the families, children... Your fans- no matter what... You remain neutral. I feel sorry for the kids who were looking forward to the GREATEST BAND on EARTH to perform for them. Those boys could care less about gay or straight. It's the adults in all of this who cause mass-chaos. Sorry to anyone who disagrees. I wish you would perform and make these kids happy.
Comment by Donna on March 17, 2013 at 10:46pm Train - You have always been a class act, but I think you're missing something on this one. The BSO stands for more than just the G & L issue. You're not supporting the kids and families that were planning on attending the event, with the hope of seeing a great concert by you! I have to agree with Bonnie, as she said it best. It's about the kids and it's truly a shame that they will miss out on your amazing show.
Comment by Sue Kulig on March 18, 2013 at 2:03am It is too bad that it is your fans that are missing out );
Comment by Bonnie Holt on March 18, 2013 at 3:58pm I want to thank Donna and Sue for your comments. I only wish that TRAIN would read comments we all post here. I'm not sure if they do. . . and that's kinda depressing on our end, huh?
Comment by Sue Kulig on March 18, 2013 at 4:41pm Hi Bonnie, I'm not sure if they read them, but some of "their people" must....I think Pat reads most of the stuff on the train twitter account...I feel bad for the fans who planned on going, because fans wait and wait all year for a date to open up near them and are overjoyed when it happens, only to be disappointed by this );
Comment by Stacie Borders on March 21, 2013 at 3:26pm So your going to punish the scouts that are going to the Jamboree. That makes sense. What a shame because my son is going to the Jamboree this year and he was really looking forward to seeing you guys in concert, along with the other boys in his troop that are going. Very disappointed.
Comment by Shane Berry on March 22, 2013 at 7:19pm So why aren't you people that are complaining to the band complain to your leaders and those in charge to change their policies? Or do you agree with their moronic, outdated policies? Train is taking a stand against something they believe in. Maybe if more people did the same things would change. We preach tolerance to our kids and then enroll them in organizations that don't. I aplaud the band for their decision.
Comment by Bonnie Holt on March 24, 2013 at 1:31pm You got my point, Stacie Borders! I still love Train, of course, but I do wish they would see the other side of the coin on this one. I'm sure your son will enjoy other performers who are truly excited to be there for the Boy Scouts. As Train said in their first post about this, the Boy Scouts have always been a very NOBLE organization.
